The government recently announced a 15% reduction in business rates for pubs and music venues starting in April to provide crucial support following changes made in the budget last November and the end of pandemic support.
Treasury minister Dan Tomlinson highlighted that this relief will amount to an average of £1,650 per pub next year. While pubs and music venues will benefit from this initiative, other hospitality sectors like hotels, restaurants, and cafes will not receive the same level of additional support.
Emma McClarkin, CEO of the BBPA, praised the government’s decision to address the financial challenges faced by the pub industry, ensuring their sustainability and continued operation.
