Fitbit has a long history of assisting users in maintaining an active lifestyle for more than 15 years. Now, under the ownership of Google, the company has introduced a new product called Fitbit Air. Unlike previous models, the Fitbit Air does not feature a screen and resembles popular Whoop bands that can be worn as a stylish wrist accessory.

Although the lack of a screen means users cannot read messages, check heart rate, or view exercise stats, the Fitbit Air offers several benefits. It is designed for enhanced comfort, resembling a bracelet-style strap rather than a traditional smartwatch. Recent research conducted by Google indicates that the Fitbit Air is rated as more comfortable than its leading competitors.

Another notable feature of the Fitbit Air is its impressive battery life, offering up to a week of power without requiring removal. Additionally, fast charging capabilities allow for a day’s worth of power in just five minutes. The device comes with a new magnetic charger featuring bi-directional technology, making it convenient for users to recharge without worrying about orientation.

Despite its minimalist appearance, the Fitbit Air retains its core functionalities. It tracks nightly sleep, activity levels, daily exercise, heart rate, and can monitor conditions like AFib, notifying users of irregular heart rhythms. Internal components include an optical heart rate monitor, a 3-axis accelerometer, a gyroscope, red and infrared sensors for oxygen saturation, and a temperature sensor.

As the Fitbit Air lacks a screen, all data is transmitted directly to smartphones. The Google Health Coach app can then provide users with a comprehensive overview of their health status. The device is water-resistant up to 50 meters and will be available in four color options: Obsidian, Fog, Berry, and Lavender.

The Fitbit Air is set to be priced at £84.99 when it becomes available for purchase.
