Meghan Markle has been reaching out to hospitals in an effort to connect with her father, Thomas, who recently underwent emergency surgery resulting in the amputation of his leg. The Duchess of Sussex personally contacted hospitals in the Philippines to identify the facility where her father was treated. Due to a lack of current contact information, Meghan resorted to emailing her father, as she does not possess his current phone number following their strained relationship before the Royal Wedding.
Thomas Markle, 81, underwent a lengthy operation to remove a blood clot that caused severe damage to his leg, leading to the amputation of his lower limb. He has been receiving intensive care in a hospital in Cebu, Philippines, since the surgery. Despite Meghan’s attempts to reach out to her father through email, communication has been challenging as the email was sent to an outdated address that Thomas no longer uses.
Meghan’s team has expressed willingness to forward any messages if Thomas provides an alternative email address. In response to media reports, a source close to Meghan criticized the lack of verification of claims made by the Daily Mail, emphasizing the importance of confirming information directly with Thomas Markle. The father-daughter relationship has been strained since their disagreement prior to Meghan’s marriage to Prince Harry in 2018.
