The Seattle Storm secured a 90-78 victory over the Toronto Tempo despite missing key players. Flau’jae Johnson led the Storm with 20 points, while Dominique Malonga contributed 18 points. Jade Melbourne also impressed with 16 points and seven assists. Seattle, struggling in recent games, managed to break their losing streak with this win.
Toronto, missing their top scorers Marina Mabrey, Brittney Sykes, and Nyara Sabally due to injuries, relied on rookie Kiki Rice, who scored a season-high 24 points. Isabelle Harrison added 17 points and 14 rebounds for the Tempo.
Seattle took control of the game in the third quarter with an 11-4 run, leading 64-61, and extended their advantage with a 9-2 run at the start of the fourth quarter.
Next, the Toronto Tempo will face Las Vegas on Friday night, while the Seattle Storm will host Los Angeles on Sunday.
