Sky is set to merge Sky Cinema Animation with Sky Cinema Family, streamlining its channel lineup and offering a consolidated hub for family-friendly movies on channel 304 starting April 30. Despite the consolidation, all content previously available on Sky Cinema Animation will still be accessible through Sky Cinema Family.

Viewers can anticipate finding popular titles like the Shrek series, The Secret Life of Pets, Smurfs, How to Train Your Dragon, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and Wicked all in one convenient location. Although the standalone Sky Cinema Animation channel will no longer be available, it will make a temporary comeback during school holidays to entertain kids, with scheduled periods from July 24 to August 30, October 23 to November 1, and December 1 to January 5.

In addition to this channel update, Sky has ventured into the home security sector with the introduction of new smart devices. Customers can opt for the Sky Smart Doorbell and Chime package for £5 per month, along with a £15 upfront fee. This system includes features such as full HD video recording, instant mobile alerts, customisable activity zones, two-way audio, and 30 days of cloud video storage.

For those seeking more advanced functionalities, Sky offers a Smart Home Bundle with Smart Home Plan+ for £8 per month and a £20 upfront charge, which includes an indoor camera and enhanced app controls like scheduled arming and automatic device modes.

Paul Sweeney, Managing Director of Sky Smart Home, emphasized the company’s commitment to making premium smart technology more accessible. Sweeney highlighted Sky’s focus on delivering features that customers value, ensuring simplicity, ease of use, manageability, and affordability.
