A tragic incident at Bondi Beach resulted in the death of a 10-year-old girl who was shot during the attack. Authorities confirmed that the girl was one of the 15 individuals who lost their lives in a mass shooting at the Sydney beach. The initial report mistakenly stated her age as 12, but police later clarified that she was 10 years old. The tragic event also claimed the life of Eli Schlanger, a British-born rabbi.
Despite earlier statements by New South Wales Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon suggesting no children were killed, it was later revealed that four children were among the 40 individuals injured in the shooting. The victims’ ages ranged from 10 to 87, with the 10-year-old girl being the youngest. The identities of the other victims have not been officially disclosed.
Authorities disclosed that a 50-year-old gunman was killed during the incident, while a 24-year-old suspect is in critical condition. The police have labeled the attack as a “terrorist incident” and confirmed that the perpetrators were a father-son duo.
