A young victim of the recent Bondi Beach shooting has been identified and fondly remembered by family and friends as a cheerful and lively child. The tragic incident at Australia’s Bondi Beach, where at least 16 individuals lost their lives and 40 others were injured during a mass shooting, took place during a Jewish festival. Among those affected were a respected British Rabbi and a 10-year-old girl who were caught up in the horrifying attack.

Authorities have labeled the assault as a terrorist act and have confirmed the death of a 50-year-old gunman. Following the incident, law enforcement officers discovered multiple explosive devices believed to be associated with the deceased shooter. Another assailant, identified as Naveed Akram, sustained injuries and is now in police custody, with reports indicating that the attackers were related as father and son.

As details of the victims emerge, one of the latest identified is Matilda Poltavchenko, a 10-year-old girl who was celebrating Hanukkah on the beach before the tragic incident. Matilda, described by devastated relatives as a vibrant and joyful child, was fatally shot during the festivities.

Her aunt, Lina, expressed her grief on social media, stating, “Yesterday my beloved niece Matilda was killed during a terrorist attack in Bondi Beach. I don’t know how we survive such grief,” as reported by MailOnline. A GoFundMe campaign initiated to support Matilda’s mother has raised over $10,000 as of Monday morning.

Irina Goodhew, Matilda’s language teacher, organized the fundraiser, praising Matilda as a radiant and spirited child who brought joy to those around her. Donors are contributing in memory of Matilda to assist her mother, Valentina Poltavchenko, during this challenging period.
