During the holiday season, many of us take a break from the constant stream of news about the U.S. President, which some refer to as the “Trump break.” This break allows us to disconnect from the chaos and unpredictable behavior of the leader of the free world. As Christmas comes to an end, it’s time to catch up on what Trump has been up to so you can stay informed without having to dive into the madness yourself.

In the lead-up to Christmas, there were several notable instances of Trump’s controversial actions, particularly during the annual NORAD hotline event. NORAD, known as the North American Aerospace Defense Command, tracks Santa’s journey around the world, allowing children to call in to check on his progress and even speak to the President if they’re lucky.

One memorable incident from Trump’s first term involved him questioning a child’s belief in Santa Claus based on their age. Recently, during this year’s event, Trump made a point of boasting about winning Pennsylvania multiple times, despite losing the state in the 2020 election.

Additionally, Trump went on a late-night Twitter tirade on Christmas morning, targeting various TV personalities and news outlets, spreading false claims about the election, and wishing a Merry Christmas to controversial figures. Among his posts, he cryptically wrote “EVERYBODY CHRISTMAS STEVE,” leaving many puzzled about the reference.

In another controversial move, Trump vetoed a bill that would have funded a significant drinking water project in Colorado. This decision was likely influenced by his support for Tina Peters, a former election official convicted of tampering with voting machines during the 2020 election.

Furthermore, a video by Nick Shirley alleging fraudulent practices at childcare centers in Minnesota led to the suspension of federal funding for these services. Despite investigations finding no evidence of fraud, the government took action based on Shirley’s unsubstantiated claims.

Trump also hosted high-profile meetings with global leaders at Mar A Lago over the Christmas break, discussing critical issues such as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. However, his interactions raised concerns, including echoing unfounded claims made by Vladimir Putin and diverting discussions to topics like a lavish White House ballroom.

As controversies continue to unfold, it remains essential to critically assess the information presented and separate fact from fiction in today’s political landscape.
