A tragic incident occurred where a young girl lost her life after accidentally falling from an abandoned hotel in a popular tourist spot. The 13-year-old girl was playing with friends when she fell from the fifth floor of a 20-story building in Santa Cruz, Tenerife. The fall was witnessed by three other children who immediately called for help. Authorities attempted to revive the girl at the scene.
The abandoned hotel, locally known as the “Añaza monstrosity,” has been vacant for over 50 years and is awaiting demolition. It poses risks with open lift shafts and windows. Law enforcement suspects that the girl plummeted from the fifth floor onto the rocks below. The National Police Homicide Unit has initiated a thorough investigation into the tragic incident. Local residents are demanding immediate action be taken to address the dangerous state of the building.
While it is believed that the girl resided in Añaza, her nationality has not been disclosed. Sadly, this marks the fifth fatality at the derelict building in Añaza, located in the northern region of Tenerife.
