A fortunate individual in Ireland has scooped a massive £17 million jackpot in the latest EuroMillions draw held on Friday. The National Lottery in Ireland has confirmed that the winning ticket was purchased in Ireland, with only one person holding the winning numbers. This win follows another significant EuroMillions jackpot won by an Irish ticket holder earlier this year.
The winning numbers for the draw were 7, 25, 30, 37, 41, with lucky stars 5 and 11. Tickets for the draw, priced at £2.50, are available for purchase until 7.30pm on draw nights. Even if the jackpot is not won, there are substantial prizes for matching one or more numbers, including a guaranteed £1 million prize with the Millionaire Maker game.
In a recent EuroMillions draw on Tuesday, one lucky winner took home an impressive £125 million. Additionally, seven ticketholders matched all five main numbers plus one Life Ball, sharing a prize of £372,679, amounting to £74,535.80 each.
The largest EuroMillions win in history occurred in June when a lucky individual in Cork, Ireland, claimed a staggering €250 million (£215 million). The National Lottery spokesperson mentioned giving the winner time to adjust to this life-changing win.
The latest jackpot winner marks the 18th Irish person to claim the EuroMillions jackpot. Prior to this, the last Irish EuroMillions winner was in February 2022 when a person won 30.9 million euro with a quick pick ticket bought in Ballina, Co Tipperary.
According to the EuroMillions rules, the jackpot cannot exceed €250 million. If the jackpot amount reaches this cap, it will remain fixed at that level. Any additional prize money that would have increased the jackpot beyond the cap will be distributed to the next prize category with at least one winner, boosting prizes in that lower category.
