A significant fire erupted at a train station, prompting emergency crews to respond swiftly to combat the blaze.
Dramatic videos captured the signal cabin of Maam Cross train station in Co Galway, Ireland, completely consumed by flames while multiple firefighting teams worked to contain the inferno.
Reports from Galway Beo indicate that all the windows of the structure were destroyed in the fire. An eyewitness expressed sorrow, stating, “I went to Maam Cross to take photos of the train and witnessed this tragic event. It’s heartbreaking after all the effort put in by the organizers to keep it running.” Fortunately, there have been no injuries reported, as per the Irish Mirror.
Situated at the intersection of the N59 and R336 roads, Maam Cross is home to the Connemara Railway, a heritage rail line. A notice on the Connemara Railway website announces, “Due to a serious incident involving our signal cabin, the railway will be closed on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 December.”
