Singer and actress Selena Gomez faced a lawsuit filed by investors on Thursday, alleging fraud due to her alleged failure to fulfill obligations in developing and promoting her mental health startup. The investors, who collectively invested around $1.2 million in Wondermind Global, a venture launched in 2021 aiming to enhance users’ “mental fitness,” claimed in a federal court filing in Delaware that Gomez, a prominent figure with over 500 million social media followers, was supposed to actively participate in the company’s marketing efforts. However, they contended that Gomez and other executives did not follow through on commitments, such as the creation of a mobile application.
According to the lawsuit, Gomez allegedly agreed to contractual obligations but did not uphold them. The plaintiffs criticized the company for failing to fulfill basic responsibilities, such as timely payments to employees and vendors, and questioned the legitimacy and profitability of the enterprise. A spokesperson for Gomez did not provide an immediate response to requests for comments.
The legal action revealed that the investors were unaware of the company’s internal challenges until a news report surfaced online in September 2025. The plaintiffs are seeking to recover their investments and legal expenses through the lawsuit.
