The current silence surrounding the Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein scandal is no longer tolerable. Not only Maxwell but also influential men like Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Peter Mandelson, who have chosen to remain silent about their connections to Epstein, are facing increasing scrutiny.

Maxwell’s composed demeanor during her recent video deposition from a low-security Texas prison has raised concerns. Despite being convicted of trafficking underage girls for Epstein, she appears to be serving her sentence comfortably, shielded from the repercussions of her actions.

During the deposition, Maxwell invoked her right to silence, refusing to address the harrowing details emerging from the Epstein files, including the involvement of a nine-year-old victim and six unidentified men, one of whom is a high-ranking foreign government official. This silence perpetuates a system that protected Epstein and his associates for years.

Mountbatten-Windsor, although denying any wrongdoing and settling a civil case, has evaded public scrutiny regarding his relationship with Epstein. Similarly, Mandelson has acknowledged his association with Epstein but denies any misconduct. However, their lack of transparency raises questions about their involvement and accountability.

Maxwell’s lawyer’s suggestion of speaking in exchange for clemency has sparked outrage. Lawmakers in the US have criticized the possibility of a pardon hanging over Maxwell’s cooperation, calling for her transfer to a maximum-security prison to ensure accountability.

The focus is not solely on prison conditions but on the accountability of those involved in the Epstein case. Victims’ identities should be protected, but the identities of powerful individuals linked to the scandal should not be shielded.

The continued silence of Maxwell, Mountbatten-Windsor, and Mandelson contributes to a culture of impunity that allowed Epstein to operate unchecked. While Epstein may be deceased, the survivors of his abuse continue to suffer, emphasizing the moral imperative for all involved to speak up and address the injustices perpetuated.
